DIARIO DI BORDO PER COLORO CHE VORREBBERO FUGGIRE VIA Ormai, come mi capita - un pò per costrizione e un pò per libera scelta - da oltre 30 anni, anche quest' anno ho trascorso parte delle mie vacanze estive nel mio paese natio, Ripabottoni. Partendo da Torino, mia abituale residenza, per tornare a Ripa dal qual non vorrei mai ripartire, sono stato pervaso, come sempre, da irrefrenabili sensazioni che fanno bene al cuore ma anche al cervello. Ho percorso innumerevoli chilometri per visitare e soggiornare in luoghi belli e diversi, ma nessuna sensazione è tanto più bella e più forte di quella che provo tutte le volte che ritorno in Ripa. Il lettore che non conosce il luogo dove è situato questo meraviglioso paese si interrogherà: cosa sarà mai questo paese da me amabilmente esaltato? Per me, anche peccando di provincialismo, Ripa è tutto: amore, tristezza, fierezza, frivolezza, vacuità, o lio, tenerezza e nullità. Con natività di Cristo, il richiamo che mi percuote è ancora più forte e denso di emozioni che mi riportano lontano nel tempo. I tanti Natali di Ripa, ovattati dalla neve che con il suo manto avvolgeva il paesaggio rupestre, rievocano la mia memoria, tras inandomi intensamente tra quella gente piena di umanità, semplicità e, perchè no?, di povertà, ma tanto ... ricca di serenità. Non vi sarà però ricchezza che potrà compensare la bontà d' animo dei ripesi. Perciò, concludendo: se un bel Natale di pace e di bontà tu vuoi passar solo a Ripa devi andar. | Comments: I wanted to say hello to all the DiLiello family in Ripabottoni. I am a descendant of Angelo Pietro and Carlona Teresa DiLiello. They are my great-great-great grandparents. Also, I am related to Guiseppiantonio Filonemo DiLiello. I am doing my family ree. They left Italy in 1898, but I have recently contacted someone who makes regular visits to Ripabottoni. I would like to get to know the history of the little town more. As you can see, our name was mispelled to D'Lallo. Ciao for now. Tony |

| Comments: We visited Ripabottoni in September and found it absolutly beautiful. So incredible to see the town I've heard about and wanted to visit all my life. My grandparents Vincenzo Ramaglia and Pasquale Cappuccilli left Ripa in 1912 and 1920 to come to Seattle We met Anna Carlone and she showed us around the town and even introduced us to a woman who is a cousin to my mom. We loved the winding and steep streets and ancient buildings. We have some old pictures of the town and were happy that it seems not to h ve changed too much, if my grandparents could have returned for a visit they would have been right at home. Thank you Anna for spending the afternoon with us, it really meant a lot. We are looking forward to our next visit. Ciao! |

Oh yes, I forgot to tell you that we also went to Orlando(Florida)!!!! It is spectacular there. Our goal is to see which park is the most beautiful, Disneyworld or Disneyland.
